A HUGE fundraising effort totalling $41,113.58 earnt Tunarama Quest entrant Jessica Webb the title of the quest's highest fundraiser, but the biggest reward was yet to come.
Just before the fireworks began, Miss Webb was announced as the 2012 Tunarama Ambassador.
All four entrants were the guests of honour at the masquerade themed gala awards dinner at the Port Lincoln Hotel on Saturday night.
Miss Webb said she had learnt so much and was thrilled all the hard work had paid off.
Her fundraising total of more than $41,000 for Youthoria and West Coast Youth and Community Support was the highest amount ever raised by an entrant in the 51-year history of the quest, and made a significant contribution toward the $80,200 combined total raised by the entrants for local charities.
"There is no way this amount of money can be raised without extreme generosity, and a willingness to donate money, prizes, time and energy to some very worthy causes," Miss Webb said.
Other title winners were Ebony Partridge, who was Most Photogenic, and Ebonie-Jade Gardiner, who won the Pageant Personality title for best Tunarama Quest entrant float in the procession.
