 Building delay for St John

Building delay for St John

09 Feb, 2010 12:30 AM
COMPLETION works of the new St John Ambulance division headquarters on Marine Avenue should start in the next month following problems with building, but it has not been built backwards according to the acting chief of the group.

St John Ambulance SA acting chief executive officer Carol Raye said there had been difficulties with the builder, causing delays for the project.

A tender had been chosen to complete the works, which should start soon, but it was not known how long it would take to finish.

"We're looking forward to completing it and being able to give the division a new home," Ms Raye said.

It is hoped the new facility will attract more people, as membership is low in the local division.

An open day will be held for the public to find out more about the service.
