 Gas leak at Lincoln Cove

Gas leak at Lincoln Cove

06 Apr, 2009 11:30 PM
AN excavator hit a gas pipe and caused a gas leak on Windamere Crescent at Lincoln Cove on Friday morning.

Incident controller, MFS station officer John Wise said earthmoving equipment making way for a resident's pavers dug up a gas pipeline, which filled the next door neighbour's house with LPG gas.

The neighbour was evacuated due to the toxic and explosive nature of the gas and MFS crews wearing breathing apparatus dispersed the gas.

The gas was isolated by using clamps on the pipework, which will be fixed by contractors.
