TRAVELLING the world will only ever be a dream for some people, but Karen and Kevin Browne have been doing it for 18 months - on a motorbike.
The couple, from Horsham in England, saved for 10 years to take the once in a lifetime journey which found them in Port Lincoln just in time for Tunarama.
The pair have been travelling around Australia since last May, hopping over the ocean from New Zealand, which was their 20th country visited on the trip.
Mrs Browne said she had become accustomed to living from the custom built bike, which has creature comforts such as a small refrigerator and clothesline to make it easier to live on the road.
"We also have a little camp stove that we survive off," Mr Browne said.
Mrs Browne said one of the best aspects of the journey was that every day was different, and to take the once in a lifetime trip some sacrifices did have to be made.
"We had to give everything up," she said.
"Kevin was an engineer and I used to work in a library.
"We don't have a house or a job to go back to."
Mr Browne said it was the luck of the draw they arrived in Port Lincoln in time for the Tunarama festival, as the couple liked to experience the local culture.
After Port Lincoln, the couple headed to Port Augusta and were hoping to trek along the Great Ocean Road before heading off to the next country in their journey - South America.
The couple have also started a blog about thier journey. The blog can be found at www.guzzioverland.co.uk
