A SHARK has been spotted on two occasions swimming close to the beach at Tumby Bay.

The shark is suspected as being a white pointer that's about five metres long according to Tumby Bay police.

It has been seen in the early morning swimming in the area near the Tumby Bay Yacht Club.

Tumby Bay police ask residents and visitors to be extra vigilant when swimming along Tumby Bay beaches.

Any further shark sightings in the area can be reported Primary Industries and Resources SA Fishwatch on 1800 065 522.
