Shields Tigers took on the undefeated Indians on the main diamond.

Indians pitcher Martin Sheridan started well, retiring three of the first four batters.

They then went to work with the bat recording two safe hits to bring in a run.

Shields hit back straight away with under 16 Aron Redman being the first of two runners to cross for the lead.

Jake Sampson then started to take control of the game for the Tigers on the mound with three up three down.

The bats responded to Sampson's hard work and scored five runs in the fifth dig to blow the game out 8-2.

Best for Shields were Logan Dennis, Robert Proude and Aron Redman who all recorded two safe hits each and best for Indians was Gareth Colbert with two safe hits.

B grade

Shields 11 def Indians 2

The reserves game saw a replay of last year's grand final with Tigers looking to make amends for last year's loss.

They have a new look team with the inclusion of Tynan Keeley, Tom Gent and the long waited return of Jeff "Pulla" Bowers and Tom Shane.

The tribe started tight in the field with three up three down, then followed it up with a run in their first at bat.

It took until the third dig for the ever young Robert "Stink" Proude to get the first run off two on the board for Shields.

Indians batters struggled to find the ball, making no impression on the score card for the next three innings.

Jacob Bockleberg regained his stellar form from Adelaide and started a hitting frenzy with the tigers recording five safe hits and one huge home run from Kym "slugger" Dorward.

With time running out Indians could only bring in one more run to bring the final score to 11-2.

Tigers best were Robert Proude, Logan Dennis and Kym Dorward two safe hits and Indians best were Brad Campain, Jermaine Packer and Justin Jenkins one safe hit each.

Under 16

Indians 12 def Shields 5

Shields opened their account early with two runs in the first dig and a safe hit from Mitchell Dennis.

Indians returned fire with nine runs on three safe hits, two of which came from James Lakin including a stand up double.

Base on balls hurt both sides.

The Tigers coach made the tough decision to change pitchers with instant results but Indians still scored two runs taking them to 11.

With a huge chase on their hands the cubs went to work but could only manage three runs on one safe hit through Peter Jones.

The final score 12 - 5.

Indians best were James Lakin, two safe hits, Cameron Tabe and Nick Wright, one safe hit each and the cubs best were Mitchell Dennis and Peter Jones one safe hit each.
