MICHAEL Curtis from Tumby Bay has won this season's Great Flinders Football League 2009 Mail Medal with 31 votes on Sunday.
Curtis said he was proud to have his name put against some of the great players in the league as the medallist.
Curtis played for Sturt in Adelaide for 10 years and racked up 130 games including one reserves and an A grade premiership flag.
This season was his third year back at Tumby Bay and he said he hopes to bring home a flag for the club after losing the grand final last year.
He said his favourite memory was playing with his brother Craig in the 2007 grand final and becoming premiership winners.
Second in the medal was Jimmy Chard, also of Tumby Bay, with 27 votes and third was Isaac Halman of Lock on 25 votes.
Brad Hazelgrove won the best under 21 player and Sam Meyers won best under 18, both from Cummins Kapinnie.
Reserves best for the association was Troy Siegert from Cummins Kapinnie and Adam Haarsma of Ramblers was runner-up.
Colts best was Max Baldiserra from Eyre United and runner-up was Callan Agnew from United Yeelanna.
Under 13 best was Cummins Kapinnie's Brodie Falciani with 26 points, closely followed by team-mate Jay Green on 25 points.
About 60 people, including representatives from the Port Adelaide Magpies gathered at the Cummins Kapinnie clubrooms on Sunday for the count.
