PRIZED footballer Hayden Parker will be back at Marble Range in 2010 but this time as the A grade playing coach.
Parker is coming off a season with the Wirrulla Football Club where he won the Mid West Mail Medal, which made it back-to-back medals for Parker as he also picked up the top prize in the Port Lincoln Football League in 2008 when playing for the Rangers.
Parker said he went back to his home town this season for a kick with his brother Jarrod, and combined they made a damaging centre line for the Wirrulla Bombers.
In 2009, Parker represented Mid West in the May and Mortlock interleague games, the Eyre Peninsula in Port Pirie and also gained State country selection from the country carnival in Port Pirie.
An on-ball and centre player, Parker regularly drops back into defence, but is equally damaging pushing the ball into attack.
He is also known for being a great team player and leader and is looking at coaching in 2010 as a new challenge.
"I was assistant coach for Marble Range under 17s in 2008 and I got a bit of a taste for it then," he said.
"This will be a new experience as I was looking for a new challenge, hopefully I'll coach for a couple years."
Parker grew up in Wirrulla and went to Adelaide for a couple of seasons with Port Adelaide before shifting to Port Lincoln and he began playing with the Rangers in 2006.
He said he hoped to take the Rangers one step further in 2010, after they lost to Mallee Park in the grand final this year.
"Things are looking positive for next year, we might have a few runs before Christmas and start pre-season mid January," he said.
