Cummins women's golf
FOURTEEN women braved the cold last Wednesday to compete in a stroke round at Cummins.
Division one was won by Annie Minhard with a good round of 83/68 including a chip-in on number two. Bev Branson was runner-up with 93/72.
Division two winner Sharon Thomas, who declared she had never mastered a chip-in at Cummins, completed her round on the ninth hole with a magnificent chip-in birdie to finish the day with a good score of 104/72. She also won nearest the pin on number 17 to win the Doug Watsons golf ball, with Janice Wait winning the Cummins Mower and Motorcycles golf ball number seven.
The nine-hole competition was won by Doreen Hall with 82/59.5, who also won the novelty event (three one putts).
Other results: novelty: division one: Janice Wait and Annie Minhard with 10 one-putts: division two shared by Lyn Lemmey-Secker and Judy Holman with eight one-putts.
Congratulations to Joyleen Pedler and Judy Holman, who won their way into the final of the Laurel Wreath competition with Joyleen Pedler taking home first prize winning on the day.
Good luck to the five girls representing Cummins who are competing in the annual Country Week that begins today at Streaky Bay and Kadina.
