EIGHTY-EIGHT golfers took part in Saturday's National Australia Bank Par Event.
The CCR was 69 for men and 72 for women. Visitor Adriana Fraser from Minlaton joined the field. The winner in the women's event was Tiff Evans with +5 on a countback from Cynthia Thompson, third Sue Bishop +1 also on a countback. The winner in A grade with +5 was Jack Thompson, second Gavin Cheriton +4, third Rodney Bird +3 and fourth Peter Cheriton +2.
B grade winner with +8 was Todd McFarlane, second Dave Sargent +5, third Kent Coleman +4 on a countback from fourth Barry Williams.
In C grade the winner with a massive +9 was Jayden Lloyd, and Brian Slape +7, third Matt Boyce +5 on a countback from Matt Goodwin.
Birdies: sixth, Rex Bichard and Leon Davies; 12th, Gavin Cheriton; 18th, Matt Boyce, Mike McCauley, Brett Davies and Gavin Cheriton.
Nearest the pins: first, Jack Thompson; sixth, Leon Davies; ninth, Gavin Vanderwall; 10th, Chas Chambers; 12th, John Cheriton; and 19th, Matt Boyce. The winner of the weekly pot was Jack Thompson.
Thursday, December 3
A good field of 45 women took part in the Christmas threesome ambrose competition.
In first division the winners were Kay Oats, Jacquie McNamara and Robyn Pentecost with 31.5, runners up were Jinny Hussey, Lyn Christopher and Raelene Thompson with 32.5.
Second division winners with 32 and one sixth were Jenny McDonald, Sue Pallant and Robin Hurley with 32 and seven eights. Runners up were C. Carr, A. Carr, K. Simes and S. Andrew.
Novelty nearest the pin Christmas tree 1-9 was L. Boxer and 10-18 was Jan Ladyman. Nearest the pin: 18th, Jenny McDonald; and 9th, Val Sharrad.
Nearest the pin approach shot: sixth, Mary Ford; and 12th, Bev Tee.

Forty-nine men took part in Wednesday's Stableford event. The CCR was 69.
In first division the winner with 42 points was Rex Bichard, second Kent Coleman, 39, and third Gavin Cheriton, 38 points. The front nine winner with 21 was Brad Bobrige and back nine winner, also with 21 points, was Kim Eglinton.
Second division winner with 44 points was David Barrowcliffe, second Andy Smith, 39, and third Ron Ash, 38, on a countback. Front nine winner with 23 points was John Nippress. Back nine winner with 21 was John Hussey.
The winner in third division with 42 points was Jayden Lloyd, second Jack Gibbes, 40, and third Graham Parker, 39, on a countback.
Front nine winner with 21 points was Doug Chesher. Back nine winner was Ron Brooks, 20 points. Nearest the pins: first, Jayden Lloyd; sixth, Brad Bobrige; ninth, Phil Parker; 10th, David Graetz; 12th, Barry Williams; and 18th, Andy Smith.
Tuesday, December 1
A good field of 39 golfers took part in Tuesday's Twilight competition. The competition was played in three divisions. First division winner with 24 points was Jason Verhees on a countback from Buzz McDowell, third John Hussey, 22, on a countback. Second division winner was Liz Weatherspoon, 24 points, second Mark Jesser, 22, and third Dave Barrowcliffe, 21 points.
In third division the winner with 24 points was Brett Davies, second Robyn Hurley, 21, and third Gail Weatherston, 20 points.
Sunday, November 29
A field of 12 golfers took part in Sunday's Stableford competition. The CCR 70 for men and 72 for women. The winner with 44 points was Doug Chesher on a countback from Jack Thompson, third Dean Weatherspoon, 37 points.
