 Top trio to clash tomorrow

Top trio to clash tomorrow

19 Nov, 2009 12:30 AM
IN-FORM gallopers Hands Of Stone, Boy John and Amen's Sea clash in the race of the day, the Flying Handicap over 1000 metres, at the Port Lincoln races tomorrow.

All three horses have won their last start. Boy John jumped brilliantly to lead throughout when he resumed in stunning fashion defeating a fast finishing Amen's Sea over this distance, he has not been missed by the handicapper being allotted 62.5kg however.

Hands Of Stone has been freshened since his two victories earlier in the season and Amen's Sea enjoyed stepping out to the 1250 metres last start where she again finished powerfully to score.

The start of the race is all important as finding the front will be a massive advantage. Hands Of Stone is a reliable beginner and we know he will take a forward spot. Boy John can be a bit hit or miss from the machine, hit and he's a good chance, miss and he will struggle.

Amen's Sea is the one who can finish over the top if the other two runners cut at each other in the lead.

Super Lass and Taloora Hula are capable of featuring in the finish.

In summary I like Hands Of Stone to lead throughout and beat Amen's Sea who will be finding the line with Boy John and Taloora Hula not far away.

Tips: Hands Of Stone 1, Amen's Sea 2, Taloora Hula 3.

The twilight meeting will start at 2.33pm and end at 6.55pm

I hope you enjoy the form guide on the opposite page. What a luxury it is to be able to do the homework and study the form the day before a meeting.

We will endeavour to do this throughout the season where possible, Sunday meetings will be excluded due to the fields being finalised after our printing deadline.

Race 1

Achenar was scratched from the last meeting to be kept for this 1000 metre event. Look for the Annette Morrison trained filly to find the front.

Legal Move, now under the care of Simon Drewitt, has to be respected on what he has produced in tougher maidens than this on the provincial circuit.

Revoc is a filly worth including in your multiples as this one goes better than her form suggests and Rainbreaker has the form to measure up.

Tips: Achenar 1, Legal Move 2, Revoc 3.

Race 2

Regansburg can have a soft kill in this race. The Whittle trained gelding has been racing well at Morphetville recently and should have too much on these at this stage.

Canophyta and Kyeema are the best of the rest and Roaring Fortune is one to consider for a place.

Tips: Regansburg 1*, Canophyta 2, Roaring Fortune 3.

Race 3

Proude Phoenix gets in nicely at the weights here and will race forward from the good barrier draw and prove hard to run down.

If you can forgive Ziparoo for his last start performance then he rates highly and One Sox Tess will be around the mark.

Tips: Proude Phoenix 1, Stella's Pearl 1*, Ziparoo 2, One Sox Tess 3.

Race 5

Fighting Fury and Jail Straight will ensure a solid tempo here and I expect the backmarkers to come into the race late.

Sea Factor was good in his fresh run last meeting when making ground from well back; expect this one to be ridden cold and come with one late run.

Over The Road was an eye-catching run also; expect this runner to be closer in the run tomorrow and right in the finish.

Wild'n'Stormy has done nothing wrong this season with two impressive victories and the jump in class tomorrow will be offset by the drop in weight.

Yarterbey, Jutland and Spectrum Blitz on their best form would win a race like this.

Tips: Sea Factor 1, Over The Road 2, Wild'n'Stormy 3.

Race 6

Deshann ran well first-up in an unsuitable race. He looks a lot better placed in this and I envisage the grey being strong on the line.

Crammond has been racing consistently here this season, although a non-winner, each way all day for him.

Esprit De Danse must be respected from the Whittle yard, this one has raced well here in the past.

Tawny Miss is smart and will finish hard and Super Hit and Toolora Starr must come into contention in another tough race.

Tips: Deshann 1, Tawny Miss 2, Crammond 3.

Race 7

A big field that has a host of chances and I would expect luck in running to play a big part in the outcome.

Last start winners Heart Of Stone and Arazi Sea have a lot of upside to them and I expect them to go on and make nice horses but can they win this race?

Arazi Sea impressed the way he found the line last start and I am expecting another big run while Heart Of Stone must be a query at his first try at the trip.

Firer Me will race handy, Actin Snakey has to rate an each-way prospect on his maiden win here and look for improvement from Danrossa.

Tips: Arazi Sea 1, Firer Me 2, Heart Of Stone 3.

Race 8

Littlejade is improving with racing and in a race that lacks depth she might be able to race handy and be there when the whips are cracking.

Three-year-old Artful Terra should relish stepping out in journey and Bitofadreamer is another that will continue to improve as her race get longer as we saw last start.

In Private and Hungry Hussler were expensive yearling buys and while they have not delivered on the racetrack they are worth keeping safe in a race of this nature.

Tips: Littlejade 1, Bitofadreamer 2, Hungry Hussler 3.
