PORT?Lioncoln trainer Darryl Carrison won his second consecutive Lock Cup on Sunday at the 44th annual Lock Races.
The weather topped 31 degrees with a lot of cloud cover during the day and ended with a light sprinkle of rain after all races and presentations had finished.
The feature race, the Centrex Metals Lock Cup run over 1900 metres, was won by Yarterbery, trained by Darryl Carrison of Port Lincoln and owned by Mrs K. Carrison, Chris Ettridge, Mrs C. Haitman and Anthony Tyler.
Ridden by Troy Baker the win means back to back cups for Carrison.
The trainer of the day trophy went to Jenny Gow-Whyte for the second year in a row. She took home two first place winners and one third place.
Lauren Stojakovic from Morphetville won the jockey of the day riding two winners and a third.
There were a record amount of contenders for the best dressed lady and gentleman and the best race day hat. Special guest, ABC Radio identity Peter Goers, judged the winners in all categories of the fashions of the field.
The best dressed men went to Barney Jones and John Dunstan, both of Darke Peak, the only two male entrants.
The best dressed women went to Judith Rehn of Arno Bay and Nadine Pearce of Lock. Runner-up prizes were given to Hannah Goldfinch of Lock, Fiona McGeever of Port Lincoln and Maryann Van-Dyk of Elliston
Best race day hat awards were won by Maryann Van-Dyk of Elliston and Fiona McGeever of Port Lincoln.
Best dressed boys under 11 went to Samuel Pearce and Aaron Siebert of Lock.
Best dressed girls under 11 were Bowden Hitchcock of Lock and Katelyn Jones of Darke Peak.
Best dressed boys under 16 were Travis Beard of Lock and Shane Harris of Cleve.
Best dressed girls under 16 was won by Paige Fletcher and Bridget Siviour of Lock.
