ROADRUNNERS brought the razzle dazzle needed for an A grade upset against Squaws to win by four runs and took accolades in all grades for a very profitable day at the park on Saturday.

Rebels' rebellion loaded the weapons in their A grade match to hammer out some whopper home runs against Eagles to win by 17 runs.

Exciting times to come as the Port Lincoln and Districts Softball Association prepares for a visit by State batting coach Shelley Neller on February 13 and 14 to generously offer batting clinics. Watch this space.

A grade

Roadrunners def Squaws 8-4

It wasn't a pretty game and the batting category definitely had a shortfall on both sides, so it was up to placement and strategy.

Both sides made two each in the first dig and it was three up three down for each in the second innings.

Squaws found a single in the third dig and knuckled down in the field to keep Roadies scoreless in this innings, but Roadrunners dished it back in the fourth dig to put Squaws away without a run and had their best batting dig to make five runs of their own.

The fifth and last innings were quiet also as no runs were made for either side and it just goes to show that one good innings can win a game.

Best at bat: Roadrunners: Steph Ridge; Squaws: Kylie McRostie and Jac Hage with two from three.

Best in field with nine outs was Brooke Neindorf.

Welcome back Jess Webb for Roadrunners to the pitching arena after a long spell out due to injury; it's like you've never left.

Port Lincoln Hotel Player of the Match: Steph Ridge from Roadies - great batting and a superb running back catch at short stop.

Rebels def Eagles 22-7

A big six runs on the board for Rebels in the first innings with no runs scored for Eagles.

Rebels were able to add another three in the second, while Eagles got on the board with a solitary runner making it safely home.

Six runs again for Rebels in the third while Eagles answered with one.

It was home run hammer time for Rebels in the fourth and last innings. Melissa Thomson, Tuesday Males and Jodie Grosser were all involved in this spectacle.

Eagles had their best dig though as well to record three home; good team batting playing a part in this, but Rebels were all over this match to take the win for the day.

Best at bat: Tuesday Males with three from four.

Best in field: Paula Hodgson from Eagles with eight outs and a catch.

Port Lincoln Hotel Player of the Match: Melissa Thomson, Rebels.

B grade

Roadrunners def Squaws 29-9

Squaws were lucky to have a team and needed a lot of juniors to go up and fill the gaps, but Roadrunners were full of spirit to take this game easily.

It was a great start for the Green and Golds with eight runs while keeping the Red and Whites scoreless at their first endeavour at bat. Roadies' Elisa Fletcher was happy to hit out a home run bomb from the get go.

Squaws turned the tide in the second when they made four runs off of a few fielding errors made by Roadies and were able to keep the Green and Golds scoreless in this dig.

Five runs were accumulated for Roadrunners in the third attempt at bat, while Squaws got two runners home at this chance.

It was another five for Roadies in the fourth innings while Squaws scrounged up one with great batting from Ashleigh Carr.

Then it was "Runarama" in the fifth and last innings for Roadrunners with a whopping 10 runs scored with great batting coming from Tash Webb, Andrea Broadfoot and Elisa Fletcher. Squaws still tried to find peace with their hitting stick and gained two runs at their last bat.

Best at bat: Carol Hanson from Roadies with three from five.

Best in field: Dannielle Miegel from Squaws with five outs and an assist, playing a ripper at short stop.

Port Lincoln Hotel Player of the Match: 11-year-old Alana Jantke from Squaws - courage of a cougar.

Roadrunners def Squaws 10-6

Wow, what progress the young Squaws side has made to give the talented Roadrunners outfit a run for their money.

Squaws made four runs to Roadies' seven in the first instance at bat. Great batting from Billie Lands, Sally Bronca, Sheridan Howell and Shannon Atkins in this first innings helped Roadrunners achieve this.

In the second innings, Squaws got one runner across home plate, Roadrunners finding three at this stage.

The third innings had fantastic highlights including a home run to Roadrunners' Emily Zuodar and to Squaws' Shannel Bartley, but unfortunately time ran out and the scores had to revert. Great batting though girls.

Best in field: Kendall Howell from Roadrunners with three outs.

Rebels def Eagles 14-4
