LOCAL swimmer Amelia Dahlitz is now the State's fastest 50 and 100 metre breaststroke swimmer under 18 years of age.
Amelia, formerly of Cummins, competed in the Australian Age Championships at the Sydney Olympic Park Aquatic Centre last week, winning three silver medals.
She recorded the fastest 100 metre breaststroke time swum by a South Australian under 18 years of age.
Her silver medal swim of 1:11.42 still needs to be ratified by SwimmingSA as a 16-year-old SA Record.
Amelia was also a member of Norwood's 4 x 100 metre medley and 4 x 100 metre freestyle relay where she started the relay, with both teams winning a silver medal.
Amelia also swam in the final of the 16-year-old girls' 100 metre freestyle with a personal best of 58.73 to finish in tenth position.
Last Thursday night she swam in the 16-year-old girls' 200 metre breaststroke in a personal best time of 2:40.49, which placed her in sixth position.
The new 100 metre record comes just a few weeks after she set a personal best of 32.68 for the 50 metre breaststroke at the Commonwealth Games swimming trials in Sydney.
The time has been ratified by SwimmingSA as a State record for a 16-year-old.
Amelia's mother, Tracey Dahlitz said her daughter had a fantastic week at the championships, and was very proud of her efforts.
