WORK to rebuild the London Street bridge in Port Lincoln will start in Feburary 2017 and should be finished by November.

The council will cover half the cost of the $4.485-million project with the rest of the funding to come from the federal Bridges Renewal Program.

The bridge will be demolished in April 2017 and construction of the new bridge is expected to be finished in October.

The new bridge will be widened to 10 metres and will include a three-metre shared use path.
