MALLEE Park and Lincoln South faced off in the grand final on Saturday at Centenary Oval.

Lincoln South was first out on the field, followed by the Mallee Park Peckers bursting through their club banner.

The game kicked off with big hits from Mallee Park centre player Anthony Roderick.

Five minutes into the game, Mallee Park’s Russell Carbine scored the first goal.

The Eagles responded immediately with Jayden Blewit scoring their first goal.

Teams then answered point for point and at the end of the first quarter Mallee Park had a one-point lead over Lincoln South.

During second quarter Lincoln South’s stepped up the game with Billy Campbell standing out for answering his own goal with a point.

Mallee Park’s Justin Lindsay scored his team’s only point for the quarter.

Just before the half-time siren, Brayden Robinson’s goal helped Lincoln South team to dominate at half time with the scoreboard reading 29 to 11.

The Eagles hit the field hard in third quarter, scoring the first point.

The game then started really heating up as the Peckers scored goal after unanswered goal.

The stage was set for a seat-gripping, nail-biting final quarter with the scoreboard 30-30.

With the grueling wet, rainy weather conditions, the mid-field had become a mud bath, adding to the growing excitement as both teams brought out their best, going goal for goal.

One minute before the final siren, Mallee Park’s Russell Carbine kicked the winning goal securing the 2016 premiership.

Best player was Ben Buller. Bulya, bulya, bulya!
