FOOTBALL might be done and dusted in the Great Flinders Football League but young Cummins Kapinnie footballer Charlie Shepherd will be back out on the field this weekend – at the SANFL grand final.
Charlie and his team-mates will be at Adelaide Oval on Sunday to see the Woodville West Torrens Eagles take on the Sturt Double Blues.
Charlie was one of the lucky winners of the McDonald’s Money Can’t Buy prize of an SANFL grand final experience.
As part of the prize, his club received 40 grand final tickets for players, coaches and parents in the McDonald’s bay, where they will watch the top SANFL teams fight it out for the flag.
They will also have the opportunity to get out on the hallowed turf of Adelaide Oval for a unique experience on the day.
Charlie’s team will also get a footy guernsey and merchandise pack.
The Cougars senior colts player won the prize for his club, after filling out an entry form at the Port Lincoln McDonald’s.
Charlie said he was excited to be going along to Adelaide Oval for the SANFL grand final with his family and some of his team-mates.
However he said he was usually a Port supporter because his uncle used to play for them so he was yet to decide who to support on Sunday.
