HEAD down to the foreshore and fly the flag for Kyle Chalmers when the gold medal Olympian returns to Port Lincoln for an official homecoming celebration on Saturday.

Port Lincoln mayor Bruce Green is inviting everyone from across the Eyre Peninsula to go along along and join in the celebrations, where Chalmers will receive the keys to the city.

“This will be a fabulous opportunity for Port Lincoln and Eyre Peninsula to support Kyle as a community and to celebrate the great achievement of our local hero in winning an individual gold medal at the Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games,” Mr Green said.

The celebrations will kick off at 10.15am with Magic 89.9/5CC broadcasting live, special guests arriving at 10.45am and official proceedings starting at 11am, when Chalmers will be joined by his family and friends on stage.

There will be a sausage sizzle, water and coffee available and special ‘Kyle’ flags will be handed out.

There will be special guest interviews and presentations, and Chalmers will be available at the end of the event for a 15-minute autograph session.

“Come join me, this Saturday to congratulate Kyle and share in the celebrations on the foreshore,” Mr Green said.

Part of Tasman Terrace will be closed until the end of the event around 12.30pm.
