FINALIST: Coffin Bay’s 1802 Oyster Bar + Bistro is among the finalists for the South Australia Tourism Awards on November 4.

SIX Eyre Peninsula businesses will be represented at the 2016 South Australian Tourism Awards next month as they compete to be recognised as SA’s best in tourism.

Coffin Bay’s 1802 Oyster Bar + Bistro and Calypso Star Charters in Port Lincoln are among the finalists, along with Ceduna Oysterfest, Ceduna Shelley Beach Caravan Park, Chinta Air Tours and Fowlers Bay Eco Tours.

South Australian Tourism Industry Council general manager Shaun de Bruyn said South Australians should be proud of the first class tourism experiences the region had on offer, with the Eyre Peninsula being home to some of the finest tourism operators and businesses in Australia.

Last year two businesses from the Eyre Peninsula were recognised as the best in their categories, Adventure Bay Charters and Calypso Star Charters.

Mr de Bruyn said a tourism award win or medal raised the reputation and consumer recognition of a business in a highly competitive industry.

“I wish all finalists the best of luck at this year’s awards and congratulate them for their success and continuous commitment to raising the benchmark for creativity, professionalism and innovation within our state’s tourism industry,” Mr de Bruyn said.

The winners will be announced at the Adelaide Convention Centre on Friday, November 4.
