Local volunteer receives Flying Doctor award

PORT Lincoln resident Isobel Edwards was honoured by the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) on Monday for her 23 years of volunteer work.

Mrs Edwards was presented with the RFDS Meritorious Service Award at the Port Lincoln RFDS Auxiliary’s annual meeting on Monday.

Mrs Edwards has volunteered with the auxiliary since 1993 and has continued to show her commitment, including organising bingo sessions.

RFDS volunteer co-ordinator Deb Adams said Mrs Edwards and other volunteers across South Australia were the lifeblood of the organisation.

“Isobel has been a wonderful ambassador for the Flying Doctors in the Port Lincoln community and we thank her for her wonderful service,” Mrs Adams said.

“We thank Isobel and all of our volunteers for their dedicated service and exceptional support over the years."
