YMCA South Australia will take on the management and operation of the Port Lincoln Leisure Centre.
Port Lincoln City Council acting mayor Neville Starke said the council was looking forward to working with YMCA.
“It is fantastic to see the major refurbishment project coming to completion, on budget, with YMCA South Australia appointed to manage and operate the whole leisure centre. “
“YMCA South Australia is a leading manager of aquatic facilities and we welcome them on board,” he said
The council and YMCA have signed a five-year agreement, starting from January 1 to December 2021, including agreed profit and financial risk sharing arrangements during the initial start-up phase and then for the remainder of the term.
YMCA SA chief executive officer Haydn Robins said the organisation was looking forward to running the centre.
“The YMCA is proud to add the Port Lincoln Leisure Centre to our stable of leisure facilities management,” Mr Robbins said.
“We’re excited by the opportunity to build new community partnerships and promote healthy participation throughout the City of Port Lincoln and beyond.”
Bookings for swim lessons will soon be available and a range of new health and fitness programs and services will be launched this month.
A new website will be operational in the coming weeks with information about the rejuvenated centre’s programs.
