Two teenagers were arrested in Port Lincoln on Monday after trying to evade police.
About 12.30pm, police attempted to stop a vehicle in Washington Street, Port Lincoln but the driver accelerated away from the patrol.
Another patrol spotted the car on the Lincoln Highway a few minutes later before it went into Bishop Street.
After a short foot chase, two teenagers were quickly arrested.
The alleged driver, a 17-year-old boy from Whyalla, was charged with multiple traffic offences, including dangerous driving, dangerous driving to escape police pursuit, driving unlicensed, unregistered and uninsured and hindering police.
He was refused police bail and will appear in the Port Lincoln Youth Court on Tuesday.
An 18-year-old Whyalla man was charged with hindering police and failing to truly answer.
He was bailed to appear in court on February 23.
The vehicle was impounded for 28 days.
