The Port Lincoln Yacht Club’s keelboat division held its fourth harbour race of the summer on Saturday.
The weather was predicted to be anything from 5-30 knots of breeze from north to south west and lived up to its promise.
It was hot and humid, and the sky looked stormy.
The start was intense, and Sextant was first to reach the windward mark.
Fresh sailed away soon after but there was close racing between Sextant, Lincoln Mentor, and Born to Mentor, and further back between Misty and Tallulah, with Buoyant Girl bringing up the rear.
Results on handicap were Born to Mentor, Lincoln Mentor, Misty, Sextant, Tallulah, Fresh and Buoyant Girl.
Thanks to David Basham and the start boat crew.
There are three windward/leeward races scheduled for this Saturday.
For those interested, there are always positions available and all keelboats will welcome newcomers and provide instruction.
