Local sports trainer Adele Whittaker has been announced as a finalist in the 2017 Sports Trainer of the Year awards.

Miss Whittaker was named in the top three for Regional Sports Trainer of the Year for her involvement with Lincoln South Football Club.

She is nominated alongside trainers from Naracoorte and Blythe-Snowtown Football Clubs.

The awards are held each year by the South Australian Sports Medicine Association and this year will be announced on February 25 at the Stamford Plaza.

Miss Whittaker said she loved being able to volunteer her services as a trainer.

“I love supporting the club and helping out the boys and the teams,” she said.

Miss Whittaker also acts as a trainer for Squaws Softball Club and has provided her services to the Port Lincoln High School and for the Kinlough and Port Adelaide Cups.

She had also previously served as a trainer with Mallee Park Football Club and at the Masters Games in Adelaide in 2015.
