Cummins team wins fours

THE Wudinna and District Bowling Club’s women bowlers recently hosted the annual Wudinna Foodland Fours tournament.

The event on Tuesday, February 7 saw good representation of players from a range of different clubs from throughout the Eyre Peninsula region.

Players from Ceduna, Streaky Bay, Cleve, Port Neil, Tumby Bay and Cummins all participated in the tournament, with 40 players in all taking part.

The Cummins team consisting of Chris Hayman, Jenny Gosling, Marie Mahony and Marg Walter secured victory on the day.

It finished out in front with 106 points.

Ending a close second was Kimba.

The quartet consisted of Gwenda Williams, Phyl Forbes, Helen Tucker and Shirley Inglis.

It came down to the wire as Kimba finished runners-up with 103 points, just three points shy of the Cummins team.

There was also a special prize of the day, which was awarded to Tumby Bay bowler Marg Hutton.

Everyone who participated in the fours event made it a great day of bowls action at Wudinna.
