WELCOME: Port Lincoln Leisure Centre manager Corey Slade invited everyone to attend the family fun day, from 9am on Sunday, March 26.

It is time to party at the Port Lincoln Leisure Centre, so grab your bathers, towel and gym clothes and head on down to Jubilee Drive.

To celebrate the completion of the first part of its redevelopment, the leisure centre is hosting a Family Fun Day at the weekend.

Staff are extending a warm welcome to local residents and their families to join in on the fun, on Sunday, March 26.

Port Lincoln Leisure Centre manager Corey Slade said the day would kick off at 9am, with people expected to flood through the doors.

“I think it’ll be pretty busy,” he said.

“Since we have opened we have had really busy weekends, so I’m expecting between 300 and 400 people to attend.”

A small gold coin entry will give you access to slides, inflatable obstacle courses and toys, and a sausage sizzle on the day.

You’ll also be able to check out all the different features of the renovated facility.

With a six-lane, 25-metre lap swimming pool, learners and rehabilitation pool, water slide and splash pool, spa, sauna, stadium, gymasium, party room and outdoor playground, the leisure centre will be the place to be at the weekend.

“We are going to have tours up to the gym area, where we have a range of cross trainers and pin machines,” Mr Slade said.

“We’ve also got a masseur coming along on the day providing massages.

“We are trying to organise a couple of other exciting events.”

The YMCA team behind managing the centre is entirely new and is encouraging people to be as active as they can be.

They believe undertaking exercise makes people happy and enhances their general sense of wellness, and they urge people to take their first step towards that happier place this weekend at the fun day.

“It’s a really good opportunity for everyone and anyone to come along,” Mr Slade said.

“It’s affordable for all families, for just a gold coin entry for the entire day.”

The centre is the largest aquatic facility on the Eyre Peninsula, providing the ultimate spot to host the community party.
