Saturday, March 18

SIXTY men and 12 ladies played a Stableford round sponsored by Eyre Landscapes with two visitors from Coffin Bay and Ceduna.

A grade winner was Paul McEvoy, 42, from Stuart Pobke, 41. Luke Murray, 43, had the score of the day and won B grade from Shaun Treacy, 39. Ray Glendenning, 41, won C grade from Phil Hyde, 39.

The rundown awards went to Andrew Stevens, 40, Ben Abley and Haydn Myers 39 and Dean Weatherspoon, Mark Cooper and Geoff DeLongville, all on 37.

The women’s winner was Lorraine McDonald, 35, on a countback from Helen George, who had a significant birthday this week, which was celebrated by the girls on Friday.

Dave Wallace, Darryl Scharfe, Doug Erskine, John Cheriton, Andrew Tiller and Adam Davies all had birdies on the par three holes.

Thursday. March 16

The girls graced the greens for their midweek competition, which was a par event. The winner was Lorraine McDonald, +1, from Cindy Carr, square. There was one visitor from Maryborough, Queensland.

The nine-hole event was won by Maxine Garnaut and Cindy Carr was nearest the pin on the ninth hole.

Wednesday, March 15

The men’s midweek competition sponsored by EP Property Valuations attracted 61 players inluding two visitors from The Vines-Reynella and Roxby Downs.

In A grade, Andrew Fraser, 40, counted out Rex Bichard. Luke Murray, 44, won B grade from Craig Lydeamore a stroke further back. Ross Sharrad, 39, won C grade from Peter Kenny, 37.

Rundown awards went to Ben Abley on 39, Bill Healey, Roger Forrest and Darryl Scharfe, 38, and Dan Townsend on 37.

Nearest the pin winners were John Strycharski, Chris Brooke, Kris Bunder, Rex Bichard, Dave Wallace and Gavin Cheriton. John Strycharski eagled the first hole to also win 16 “eggs” from the Kym Clarke Constructions’ Eagles Nest.

Birdies came from Andrew Fraser, Rex Bichard (twice), Ben Abley, Kris Bunder and Brian Henson.

Tuesday, March 14

Twilight golf attracted 10 players and the winner was Ben Abley, 23, with Darryl Scharfe counting out Janet Whittaker, both 20.

Monday, March 13

Twenty-six players took to the course for the public holiday for horses, also known as Adelaide Cup Day.

Mick Hegarty whistled his way around the course to have a match-winning 45 points at full-time and the interchange bench was left with 42 points from Josh Hausler on 42 and Kees Mors on 40.

The Ladies’ League winner was Elaine Pierik with 37 from Helen George on 34.
