A QUILTING and patchwork workshop held at Lock earlier this month was attended by quite a few community members.

Helen Schramm was tutor at the workshop organised by the Lock Country Women’s Association on Sunday, May 7.

Several of the members at the workshop had also attended other workshops led by Ms Schramm the day before.

Participants ranged from experienced patch workers to those who were attempting a quilt top for the first time.

Ms Schramm provided an array of kits to complete a ‘nine patch’ quilt which required varying degrees of expertise.

Every participant worked through the exercise to at least one completed patchwork block.

Lock Country Women’s Association president Merilyn Kelly said the association was very happy to organise the series of workshops and provide a learning opportunity for the women of the community.

“Everyone enjoyed the day so much that we have booked Helen for a pre-Christmas workshop for October 22,” she said.

The Lock Country Women’s Association also has a winter warmers theme for the next meeting on Tuesday, June 6.
