A Port Lincoln woman is taking on an 80-kilometre walk that was set up in memory of her nephew.

Tanya Murray is taking part in Harri’s Walk With Wings on July 1, which will involve participants walking from Paralowie to Port Wakefield.

The walk is an annual event in memory of Harrison Norris, who was born premature on November 6, 2012 and died from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome on January 11, 2013.

Every 10km of the walk symbolises one week of Harrison’s life and money raised will go to Angelcare for sound and movement monitors for parents.

Ms Murray said Harrison was her nephew and she would be participating in the walk with his father, and her brother, James Norris.

“When I had a look at what (Walk With Wings) offered as part of the fundraising I felt it’s quite relevant to country people with what they’re offering,” she said.

“I want to support my brother as much as I can.”
