Celebrity chef Pete Evans is putting his stamp on two local venues including the soon to be re-opened restaurant on the ground floor of the Limani Motel on Port Lincoln’s foreshore.
Mr Evans is consulting to Peter Teakle in the development of two of Mr Teakle’s projects in Port Lincoln – the vineyard function centre and the Limani Motel.
Mr Evans flew in to Port Lincoln on Thursday to meet with Mr Teakle and Diana Williams, to view the projects and start his consulting on kitchen design and menus for the first project up at the vineyard, formerly Delacolline Winery.
Peter Teakle said it was great to have Mr Evans join “team Teakle” to work on the two projects.
“I am delighted to have the expertise and experience of chef Pete Evans,” Mr Teakle said.
“He loves Eyre Peninsula produce, so we are fortunate to have him help us design the kitchen as well as put together menus that celebrate local produce.”
Mr Evans and his two chefs, Jacinta and Monica Cannataci, will also help recruit an executive chef and a kitchen team, as well as designing a seasonal menu that showcases the best of Eyre Peninsula.
“This is a dream come true to be able to work with my old mate Peter Teakle on this exciting project,” Mr Evans said.
“Port Lincoln is hands down the seafood capital of Australia and our team and I are passionate about respecting and highlighting all that Port Lincoln has to offer and create another wonderful dining and function destination for locals and visitors,” Mr Evans said.
The partnership will also allow Eyre Peninsula to be showcased around Australia as Mr Evans aims to promote the region and the local produce through his extensive networks.
The new function venue at the vineyard will be open later in the year and it already has a number of bookings for weddings and business events.
