Ravendale’s eastern oval is expected to be reopened for sport by early November although irrigation work at the complex is likely to continue until the end of the month.
The Port Lincoln City Council’s technical projects officer Sebastian Carr said the irrigation upgrade had been on track since it started on September 4.
Installation of new mainline pipe and sprinkler rotors to the western oval was completed last week with the eastern oval mainline expected to be completed by next week.
Mr Carr said barring any major delays, works should be completed by the start of December.
He said the council had been in regular contact with major users, including sports clubs, to review impacts.
“The sports clubs have had a great, positive attitude to the project and all agreed to share the impacts of the disruption equally,” he said.
Mr Carr said the next challenge was to return the second oval for cricket, baseball and athletics as soon as possible.
