SPORTSPOWER SUPER WAREHOUSE PLAYER OF THE ROUND
THE two standout candidates in round one were Luke Yancic of Charlton and Nick Gale of Tasman.
Gale had a great all round match snaring a catch, 4/16 and 35 runs, however Yancic started the season with an even 100 and is the first recipient of the award this season. Well done.
B GRADE PLAYER OF THE ROUND
With only one B grade match played on the weekend the winner of this week’s award is from Tasman.
A few players short, young colt Jesse Cornish filled in for the Red Caps and has done no harm in keeping his spot after bowling his side to victory claiming the great figures of 4/5. Well done Jesse.
The colts season has been delayed for one week and will now start on October 21 once school has returned.
Round two matches
With the unfortunate forfeiting of three matches last weekend all clubs are looking primed and set to field complete sides this weekend.
Those out there looking for a game of cricket please contact your local club or the association who will be able to point you in the right direction.
Southern Eyre v Charlton, Wangary - Saturday
All clubs are looking primed and set to field complete sides this weekend.
A big win first up for Charlton last week defeating an undermanned Souths while SES had to play a scratch match between themselves after Tod River forfeited both grades.
This should be a great match. Charlton have been strengthened by the return of Jim Stockham and SES bowling has been depleted with the loss of Ayden Smith and Alex Mahoney.
Out at The Gary SES should get over the line.
Tasman v Tod River, Poole Oval - Saturday
Tasman had a great first up win with an even contribution, while Tod River were unable to field a side last weekend and will look to get their season started this weekend.
It is always a good match between these two sides.
Tasman look to have a few players back including skipper Matt Dyer while Tod River will still have a few unavailable due to a wedding.
Tasman should make it two from two.
Waybacks v Lincoln South, Ravendale - Saturday
The two teams that suffered defeats last weekend will get the chance to record their first win.
Wayback’s batting was dominated by John Robins and the hard-hitting Jack Parsons.
Lincoln South posted a very decent score in reply to Charlton without regular major contributor Craig Reidy doing too much.
The Wayback bowling should be the difference in this match.
