Girls arrested for thefts from cars

Two girls have been arrested for allegedly breaking into cars in Port Lincoln on Wednesday.

Patrols were called to Simmonds Street about 6.45am after reports that two cars had been broken into and a mobile phone and cash were stolen.

The tracking software on the phone was used to lead police to a nearby street, where the suspects were arrested.

A 16-year-old girl and a 14-year-old girl, both of Port Lincoln, were charged with illegal interference with a motor vehicle and theft, and were bailed to appear in the Port Lincoln Youth Court at a later date.
