THE spotlight is once again on local businesses with nominations for the 2017 Port Lincoln Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Business Excellence Awards open.
Nominations for the awards are open until midnight on October 29 with presentations at the Ravendale Community Sports Centre on November 17.
Nominations are open in six categories including Young Business Person, Tourism Excellence and Business Excellence.
Chamber chairperson Jack Ritchie said Port Lincoln was fortunate to have such a wide range of high quality businesses deserving of recognition.
“The awards give nominating businesses, individuals and the broader community a positive way to reflect on their achievements,” he said.
Mr Ritchie said the awards were one of the highlights on the Port Lincoln business calendar and there was a lot of support from local sponsors.
Coast and Country Furniture was the winner of the 2016 Business Excellence Award and co-owners Phil and Sue Kelly said the award win was an honour.
“It’s nice for someone to acknowledge your effort, we just try to do our job the same every day,” Mr Kelly said.
Mr and Mrs Kelly said the award was a credit to the work all Coast and Country staff did.
Gold sponsors for this year’s awards are Beyond Bank, Eyre Peninsula 765-5CC, Southern Cross Austereo, Career Employment Group, Port Lincoln Times and Port Lincoln City Council.
