Work on the London Street bridge is expected to be finished by the end of the month with the last few elements being added to the new structure.
Construction of the new bridge has continued with road surfacing completed on Friday.
Port Lincoln City Council operations manager Craig Matena said this week work would include the shared footpath on the western side which he expected would be completed by the end of the week.
He said other works would include installation of street lights, hydroseeding on the embankments and installation of guard rails and fencing.
The section of London Street has been closed to traffic since work began at the beginning of May.
Mr Matena said work was on schedule to be completed by the end of October with the bridge to be opened up again for traffic by the start of November.
“It’s good to have it completed within five months,” he said.
