The Cummins Hospital Auxiliary held its annual Melbourne Cup luncheon at Rambler Clubrooms on November 7 with Robyn Modra compering the event.

Amy Maddern and three of her guitar students, Holly Crettenden, Bree Shepperd and Maddy Glover entertained with several songs.

Luisa Puckridge had several retro and vintage hats on display, which were modelled by some ladies.

Diane Barber and Christine Seaman travelled over from Adelaide to attend the luncheon.

There were many winners in the raffle, with prizes donated by the Cummins Hospital Auxiliary members and lucky sweep winners were happy with their winnings.

The meal consisted of beef or chicken schnitzels, cooked by Roger Laube and Ian Holman, and many delicious salads, followed by a large variety of sweets, made by auxiliary members.

Kate Boehm, on behalf of the Cummins Hospital, thanked the auxiliary committee for the continued support of the hospital and its staff.

President Jan Phelps thanked everyone for their help in making the day as successful as it was.

Special thanks went to Elizabeth Howell, who organised the flower arrangements, Jane Smith and Marie Charlton for donating the champagne and orange juice, Gladys Hall for the table decorations, Carolyn Martin and her committee, all the ladies who worked in the kitchen, the bar staff and the men who did the cooking.
