Ballroom dancers from Port Lincoln and Tumby Bay travelled to Clare recently, where they joined 166 dancers from South Australia and Victoria for a three-day dance event.

The annual event celebrated its 20th ball this year, bringing friends together, dancing the nights away, sharing dance stories and exploring the local area.

The Friday night ball was a blaze of colour, style and bling as dancers took to the floor with great enthusiasm.

It was an extra special occasion for Bev Bradford from Tumby Bay, Tony Radford and Annette Sleeth from Victoria, who met up with fellow dancer Keith Klemke, for an emotional reunion.

They participated in his active and successful resuscitation following his cardiac arrest two years ago. It was amazing to see him make a full recovery and continuing with his love of dancing.

Saturday was a chance to explore the Clare Valley, socialise with friends, followed by a night of new vogue ballroom dancing.

Suppers each night tempted the taste buds, and were truly delicious.

Sunday’s dance started at 10.30am, pausing for a wonderful country lunch, followed by more dancing before saying farewell.

Mildura will host the October 2018 dance weekend and Wallaroo host a dance weekend in November.

Just Love to Dance dancers dance at Lipson monthly, every third Sunday and visitors are always welcome; contact Bev and Mike Bradford on 0427 023 722.
