Pycrofts go above, beyond

The Port Lincoln Calisthenics Club celebrated the 2017 season with a camp and presentations at Trinity Haven Lutheran Camp.

Port Lincoln was very successful in regional competitions with multiple placings and the senior duo of Jemma and Hannah Pycroft scoring the highest points in the competition.

They will go on to compete at state level in Adelaide this month.

The intermediate and senior team competed at the Calisthenic Association of SA State Competitions in late August, bringing home incredible scores and placings.

These competitions are of such a high standard and a great way for girls to push themselves and compare technique and precision with the city clubs.

Congratulations to all award winners, especially Immari Crettenden and Jessica Ferret in the sub junior age group, Caitlin Thomas in the intermediate and Jamie-Lee Jones in the senior team who were recognised for their talent, persistence and dedication.

This year Jemma Pycroft received the club person of the year award and Hannah Pycroft was awarded the junior club person of the year for their enormous commitment, dedication, time and sacrifices for the club. They have gone above and beyond what is expected.

Hannah Pycroft, Meg Casanova and Angel Gibbons received the Marie Bascomb Award at the end of year concert recognising club spirit and teamwork demonstrated this year for state competing teams.

Life memberships were awarded to Lauren Graetz, Georgia Green, Paige Murphy, Crystal Borlace and Cassie Flitter.

It has been a great year with competitions, performances and a new uniform and the club is looking forward to seeing new recruits and also the old members back for 2018.

Practice times for 2018 will be the same as this year but may be subject to change: tinies (ages 3-7) – Thursday 4pm-5.30pm; sub jr (8-10) – Tuesday 4.30pm-6.30pm; junior (11-13) – TBA; intermediate (14-16) – Monday 5.30pm-8pm; senior (16+) – Wednesday 6pm-8.30pm.
