Taxi driver robbed at Port Lincoln

Police are investigating the robbery of a taxi driver at the completion of his shift at Port Lincoln in the early hours of Sunday morning.

About 4.30am, the taxi driver was approached by a man in Blackman Place, Port Lincoln.  

The man attacked him, knocking him to the ground before stealing his laptop bag containing his night's takings.

The victim, a 59-year-old man, sustained facial injuries and was treated in hospital.

The suspect is described as a young man of Aboriginal appearance, aged about 20, about 165 centimetres tall, small to medium build, wearing dark clothing and a grey zip up hoodie.
