Staff at G.J. Gardner Homes Port Lincoln feel rewarded after participating in Movember 2017 and contributing to men’s health causes.

The Port Lincoln office was a part of a national effort from G.J. Gardner Homes to raise money for the Movember Foundation with more than 80 franchise and office staff taking part nationwide.

The Port Lincoln team raised $560 for the cause, contributing to the $50,000 raised by G.J. Gardner franchises nationally.

G.J. Gardner Port Lincoln operations manager Chris Dare said the team was thankful for all those in the community who donated and showed support.

“Our staff came together to raise important funds and so did their familiese, friends and the local communities where we are based,” he said.

“We feel privileged to be a part of these communities.”

Each year the Movember Foundation raises money and awareness to help prevent deaths from prostate cancer, testicular cancer, suicide and other causes.

Mr Dare said throughout Movember as well as raising funds through their “Mo growing efforts”, staff and subcontractors also participated in education on testicular and prostate cancers as well as mental health issues.

“When detected early, prostate cancer survival rates, for example, are better than 98 per cent,” he said.
