No doubt there will be plenty of players blowing some cobwebs out at training.

There will be a new look to Port Lincoln cricket's own Big Bash competition, the McDonalds Twenty20 Cup, this season.

There will be a new look to Port Lincoln cricket's own Big Bash competition, the McDonald’s Twenty/20 Cup, this season.

All minor round matches will be played in one massive day at Ravendale Oval on Saturday, January 20.

Both ovals will be in use, with the first match starting at 10am and the last match scheduled for 8pm.

Canteen and full bar facilities will be available, so make sure you put this date in your calendar for what should be an exciting showcase of Twenty/20 cricket.

Stay tuned to next week's Port Lincoln Times for further details.

Henderson Shield

The first XI looks all but certain to make the Henderson Shield grand final following convincing victories over Le Hunte and Great Flinders.

The second XI is relying on other results after their narrow loss to Great Flinders.

With remaining fixtures to be played this Sunday, keep your eye on Around the Wicket for updates in the coming weeks.

Eyre Peninsula juniors

The Eyre Peninsula under 14 and under 12 sides have begun their Country Cup campaigns in the Barossa Valley with dominant victories over Upper North in round one.

Jaiden Jude (Tasman) and Tom Morgan (SES) were both selected in the under 14 side, while Yarra Mickan (SES), Kade Mullins (Tod River) and Sebastian Henderson (Tod River) were selected in the under 12 side.

Country Living Homes T20

Southern Eyre South head to Port Augusta this Sunday to take part in the quarter finals of the Country Living Homes Twenty/20 Cup.

This will be the fourth straight year the Southerners have reached this stage, and must beat Minlaton and the winner of South Augusta and Angaston to progress to the grand final on Adelaide Oval on February 17. We wish them all the best.
