Two Port Lincoln Anglers Club fishers Donna and Riley Peters were awarded state records after successes during a recent dryland casting event and club outing.
Ms Peters achieved a state record for her artificial bait distance cast, exceeding the previous record that was set in 2009 by fellow Port Lincoln Anglers Club member Julie Bascombe of 92.47 metres.
Ms Peters threw a distance of 94.47 metres at the State Australian Anglers Association (AAA) Dryland Casting Event.
Riley recently caught a 2.07 kilogram leatherjacket at a Port Lincoln Anglers Club outing, which was not only a Port Lincoln club record but also a South Australian record.
Riley shows remarkable skills with his fishing and both fishers compete regularly at South Australian championships.
The next outing for the Port Lincoln Anglers Club will be held on Sunday, February 18.
It will be a six of a species event.
