The City of Port Lincoln’s is seeking a suitably experienced and motivated professional to fill the position of Senior Engineering Technical Officer. Working to support the Manager Civil Assets and Operations and Manager Open Space, this role is responsible for the effective and efficient design and delivery of public infrastructure projects including new developments, civil works, landscape construction and major maintenance and renewal projects.

The Senior Engineering Technical Officer is responsible for providing quality technical advice to Council, incorporating project investigation and management, contract management, survey and design functions, and engineering advice in a Local Government environment.

This includes, but is not limited to, project investigation and design, asset renewal, development compliance and general technical advice in a Local Government environment.

Will this work motivate you and get you out of bed each morning?

• Provide high quality engineering and technical advice to support the success of Council projects, plans and deliverables.
• Coordinate engineering surveys and design for infrastructure renewal, maintenance and upgrade projects.
• Oversee the consultation processes for Council relating to community infrastructure projects.
• Provide advice and recommendations on Development Applications

This is what you’ll have in your personal toolkit:

• Experience in some, or all elements related to civil engineering or traffic engineering, construction, asset management, or other related discipline in a Local Government context.
• Experience and working knowledge of survey and design processes.
• Highly developed project management experience.
• Extensive experience in providing professional and/or specialist technical services.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, influencing and negotiating ability within a complex technical work environment.
• Demonstrated superior communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to participate in technical discussions, resolve problems, explain policy, reconcile viewpoints and present reports to Council.
• Sound decision making skills, the ability to plan and prioritise competing demands, confidence in resolving conflict, and exceptional attention to detail and quality focus.
