PORT Lincoln Library joined the One Card network last week, with a launch celebrating the new resources available to its borrowers.

The One Card system offers access to the state-wide collection of books, music, movies, magazines, audio and ebooks, online databases, information and reference sources to library members.

Library services manager Louise Mrdjen said it would allow members access to up to 3 million items in the statewide collection.

"It is a fantastic free service," she said.

"Patrons are able to borrow up to 100 items at a time, including 20 DVDs."

Mrs Mrdjen said current members would not notice a change.

"For those with current library cards, there is no change, they will just need to contact the Library for a PIN to access the online catalogue and resources."

The One Card network connects 130 public libraries across the state.

Library members can borrow and return books to any of the libraries in the network.

"We look forward to continuing to provide valued service for our community and the One Card network will make for fast and easy access to a greater range of resources," Mrs Mrdjen said.
