THE cause of a train derailment on Murat Terrace in Ceduna at about 9.30am last Thursday is being investigated.
Genesee and Wyoming Australia said the train carrying gypsum derailed 13 wagons with seven turning on their side.
The train's locomotive remained upright and nobody was injured in the incident.
The track was closed and the National Rail Safety Regulator was on site soon after the incident with the damaged wagons removed via a crane and taken by truck.
The track is again open for regular service but the cause of the derailment is still unknown.
