Port Lincoln Community Bank and Port Lincoln Rotary Club have lent a hand to put an automated external defibrillator (AED) at Lincoln Grove Retirement Village.
The bank and the Rotary Club provided $1500 each for Lincoln Grove to purchase the AED through St John’s Ambulance.
Lincoln Grove Social Club president Bill Richter said the two organisations helped greatly because the club did not have the money to pay it off all at once.
He said because it was purchased before June 30 St John’s gave them a good deal so the club decided to donate what was left to St John’s.
“We’re really stoked St John’s was able to supply the AED at a reasonable price,” he said.
Port Lincoln Community Bank manager Phil Channon said the bank was pleased to partner with the Rotary Club to provide the AED.
“This is the third occasion where the Community Bank and Rotary Club have partnered to put a defibrillator around town,” he said.
“It’s not something we do every day but we look for opportunities to help out around town.”
