Police seek witnesses to crime spree

Port Lincoln police are investigating a number of home and car break-ins near Kirton Point on Saturday.

Just before 2am on Saturday the occupant of a Knott Street home woke to noises and found a person standing in the hallway.

The resident yelled at the person who ran off and climbed over a fence into Baltimore Street.

A short time later, the occupant of a Baltimore Street home disturbed two men attempting to jemmy and kick open their front doors.

The residents yelled at them and the men fled.

A check of the property revealed their shed had also been entered but nothing was stolen.

Police received a report of a person inside a shed at another Baltimore Street address about 2.10am.

The resident confronted the suspect who then picked up a shovel and assaulted him, cutting his hand, before leaving.

The shed and a car parked at the address were damaged.

At 2.40am a car was broken into at a Monash Road home but nothing was reported stolen.

A car parked at Luke Street was broken into just before 3am where the suspect was disturbed and ran off. Nothing was stolen from the car.

In a separate incident, police responded to alarm activations at about 3.40am at a business premises in Liverpool Street.

Police found entry had been gained to the premises but it was unknown if anything had been stolen.
