THE new outdoor area at Matthew Flinders Home has been tested out by the local groups which helped make the area possible.
Port Lincoln Lions Club and the Port Lincoln Homing Association members, joined Matthew Flinders Home staff for a barbecue lunch on October 11 to celebrate the completion of the home’s new outdoor area.
Both community groups recently made generous donations to the home which allowed the outdoor area to be finished.
The courtyard now proudly boasts a beautiful outdoor kitchen.
The new outdoor area is accessible to families and friends to join their loved ones for barbecues and allows lifestyle staff to extend their program to the outdoors as well.
Mary Cook and chef Vince cooked on the new barbecue and presented a lovely lunch to the special guests.
A group of care recipients also enjoyed the barbecue lunch.
Matthew Flinders home will endeavour to continue with its barbecue groups to utilise the new courtyard and kitchen.
The home is grateful for the community groups, like the Lions Club and the Port Lincoln Homing Association who support its care recipients and enable the home to make improvements through their generosity.
