Country Fire Service firefighters responded to a grass fire near Tumby Bay on Monday afternoon.
CFS Region Six received a call out just after 3pm due to a fire burning in a paddock near Slaugherhouse Road and Mine Hill Road, north of the Tumby Bay township.
CFS advised the threat posed by the fire had reduced just before 4pm but warned motorists to be cautious as smoke in the area could affect visibility.
Residents in the area were also advised to check their properties in the next few day for any fires or embers, particularly in roof spaces, under decks or in gutters.
