Port Adelaide fans made the most of the football club’s visit to Lower Eyre Peninsula this week.

The club’s community camp included an Auskick Super Clinic and Sportsman’s Dinner.

An auction at the dinner raised more than $1300 for local football.

The players also visited some of the local schools passing on information about healthy living and leadership.

Cleve born player Sam Gray said it was great to come back Port Adelaide to reaffirm its link to the region.

He said it was also great to see some of the footballers he played alongside and against in Port Lincoln as part of the Mortlock Shield and Port Adelaide Cup carnivals.

“To come back and to be able to see some of the kids I played with and played against still doing well in football is really good,” he said.

“Hopefully we can still get some kids to move over to Adelaide eventually and try to further their football careers.”

The community camp finished Tuesday afternoon.
